Frequently Asked Questions
How much continuing education do I need?
PAs must complete 100 credits of CME every two years to maintain their certification with the NCCPA. The state you practice in may have additional requirements.
What types of continuing education should I complete?
The NCCPA’s certification maintenance process requires at least 50 Category 1 CME credits every two years. The organization states, “The remaining 50 credits can be Category 1, Category 2 or a combination of both.” The NCCPA values the benefits of self-assessment CME and PI CME (both types of Category 1 CME) and therefore awards additional credits for these types of continuing education.
Why should PAs choose CME Seminars?
PAs working in primary care will find CME Seminars’ conferences balance continuing education and time for rest and relaxation. Morning-only sessions deliver concise, clinically relevant details thanks to experienced presenters. Then, afternoons are free to explore our vacation-worthy destinations.
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for PAs
The NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME. Physician associates with questions about eligibility should contact their accrediting organization.
CME Seminars’ events are planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of American Medical Seminars and CME Seminars.
