    Mita Shah Hoppenfeld, MD is an Assistant Professor within the Division of General Internal Medicine and the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah Hospital.  Dr. Hoppenfeld received her medical degree from Boston University, and completed her medical internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and her internal medicine residency at Stanford Hospital. In the past, she served as Chief Medical Resident at Stanford Hospital where she created and implemented their first resident focused diversity lecture series.

Learning Objectives

  • Evaluate the current state of sepsis recognition and treatment, based on widely accepted published guidelines.
  • Determine treatment options for common conditions seen in the geriatric population
  • Evaluate key updates & current literature related to the modern practice of hospital medicine, including cancer, cardiology, nephrology, rheumatology and pulmonology.
