Statement of Need
This course will cover topics pertinent to primary health care providers including updates in general internal medicine, substance abuse, physician wellness, mental health conditions, anemia, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, clostridium difficile, treatment of cirrhosis and complications, sexually transmitted disease, osteoporosis, venous thromboembolism and dealing with difficult patients. Content will provide a well-rounded interprofessional educational experience from various aspects of care management.
After participating in this activity clinicians should be able to:
- Summarize recent updates, clinical studies, and new guidelines that impact practice in primary care.
- Develop strategies regarding the evaluation and management of internal medicine diseases.
- Evaluate clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of common and uncommon conditions critical to the practice of internal medicine
