Statement of Need

Clinicians in family medicine, primary care and internal medicine play a key role in the care of patients. They need to continually update their knowledge base and skills in order to provide optimal care to patients and ensure they are adhering to best practices, including the evaluation, diagnosis of and treatment or management of conditions commonly seen in family/primary care/internal medicine settings.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this activity clinicians should be able to:

• Utilize the most recent JNC Guidelines, the Cochrane database and the evidence-based reports from Clinical Evidence for the diagnosis, treatment and management of conditions seen in practice.
• Summarize recent updates, clinical studies, and new guidelines that impact practice in Internal and Family Medicine.
• Clinicians need to assess and provide patients with an accurate diagnosis and optimal care for a broad range of disorders seen in the practice setting.
